Hip Arthritis

Question: What is better for hip arthritis ice or heat?

Answer: Unfortunately, research is not clear on which is best. I am a believer in first trying to utilize ice. If you have inflammation, heat can make inflammation worse. Thus, ice is a safer place to start. I recommend utilizing frozen peas for 15 - 20 min. Do not put the ice over clothing as it will not get cold enough. Instead, utilize a WET washcloth and put that between your skin and the ice/frozen peas. Keep on for 15-20 min and repeat a few times a day.

Hope this helps.

I would suggest don't use anything before consulting arthritis specialist.
Arthritis symptoms vary from person to person and needs to be examined carefully. Any chnages in the body heat or coldness increase the inflammation.
