Searching For Joint Pain Remedies?
Find Them Here!

"I have knee joint pain every time I walk stairs.”
“I get severe sciatica after sitting for more than 10 minutes.”
“My shoulder hurts every time I reach up overhead.”

Wouldn’t you love to know exactly what could help relieve your pain?

I can understand. The patients I see on a daily basis have the same questions and are seeking the same answers. They come to me with questions such as:

• What is causing my pain?
• What are my best treatment options?
• What steps can I take to feel better and get back to what I like to do?

Hi. My name is Janelle Trempe and I am an orthopedic physical therapist. Since 1991 I have been helping people with their joint pain conditions. At the core of what I do as a physical therapist is teaching: helping patients to understand their condition and providing them information on what they can do to improve their pain and return to the activities they enjoy.

The information contained here will help you do the same.

For example……
Have you ever had sciatica? It’s a common problem that I see in the clinic. Sciatica can have a number of causes including a bulging disc or spinal stenosis.

How do I tell which one it is? By identifying the pattern of the pain.

If the sciatica pain occurs with sitting or bending, then the cause is most likely a bulging disc. If the pain occurs after standing or walking and feels better with sitting, the cause is generally stenosis. Once the cause is determined the best treatment plan can be implemented. For a bulging disc, lumbar extension are the best treatment. For spinal stenosis, William’s flexionexercises will relieve the pain.

Most joint pain conditions are caused by trauma or overuse. Some joint conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, result from a systemic disease.

The basic keys to reliving pain and restoring function include:
• reducing inflammation
• maximizing the environment for healing
• restoring normal joint mobility
• improving related muscle strength
• restoring function

Understanding exactly how to do these things is what this site is all about.

Although not a substitute for medical care, since I practice evidence-based physical therapy, the information and recommendations provided here are supported by both medical research and years of experience.

Whether you have an ankle sprain, want to understand more about your knee osteoarthritis or are considering having rotator cuff surgery, the guidance given here will provide the answers you are seeking.

To your health,

Janelle Trempe PT, ATC
